CLUSTER PRESENTS ITS PROGRESS AND PROJECTS FOR THE PERIOD 2017-2018
Monterrey, N.L. - The General Assembly of the Tourism Cluster of Nuevo León AC was held at Cintermex on Thursday, June 21st, where the affiliates, counselors and guests of the Tourism Industry, learned about the activities carried out in the period 2017 -2018 and the projects and proposals that are currently under development.
It began with the conference "Tourism: Engine of Development", in charge of the guest of honor, Lic. Gerardo Corona González, Undersecretary of Innovation and Development of the Ministry of Tourism. He shared the impact that tourism has on the economic development of the country, with figures, concrete plans and proposals for the actors of the industry present there.
The current project of collaboration between the N.L. Tourism Undersecretary and the Tourism Cluster, the 'Tourism Observatory of Nuevo León', was announced. The objective is to have an official source of statistical data of the State, a mobile application of the destination where tourism products can be designed and marketed as well as allowing the integration of data (Big Data) and real time analysis.
The Cluster announced its new advisors and affiliates, adding 40 associates in total, including private companies, government and universities. The Working Committees that give life to the Cluster were also formed.
Likewise, Mauricio Magdaleno, Cluster's General Director, shared a summary of the projects they are currently working on; the Diploma in Tourism Experience Management in Digital Media, a Tourism Industry Innovation Center together with Prosoft, a mobile destination application "Passport Nuevo León Extraordinario" and the collaboration with the State Police Dignification Program.
Mr. Miguel Angel Cantu, Nuevo Leon's Undersecretary of Tourism presented the objectives, management model and action lines of the 'Special Plan to Promote Tourism', a work developed jointly with the Nuevo Leon Tourism Cluster.
In addition, it was announced the second edition of the largest Festival of Lights in Mexico, Luztopia, which will be now longer, starting from the Good End, until January 6th with the theme of Flora and Fauna, in this way Luztopia will be a festival that remains and is renewed every Christmas season.
